TheBadBackGuy.net Many people have asked about sitting for extended periods, riding the recumbent bike, and sciatic nerve pain. The answer is actually a simple one, one I have used for years! One of the most frequent questions I get is about sciatica and riding a recumbent bike. Many people state the simply cannot sit that long without pain. This is a legitimate concern and one I use to deal with too. The way I dealt with it, and rather effectively if I do say so, was to purchase a number of gel seats, two actually. I purchased one gel seat for the stationary bike I rode, the Lifecycle, and the other for the recumbent bike. Both gel seats were fantastic for comfort and even after my sciatica diminished, I still used both gel seats almost all the time. When dealing with sciatica, sitting can be a problem, particularly sitting for long periods of time…the gel seat for the recumbent bike was the answer. Question by Sewnmemaw60: Has anyone heard of a new pain relief product called Alcis?
It’s a topical medicine for aches and pains of things like arthritis,back pain,joint pain,etc.Suppose to go right to the source of the pain thru the skin when you rub it in(like Bengay).But suppose to be better.
I saw the ad this morning on tv,just wondering if anyone has tried it?
Sounds too good to be true as with most infomercials,what do you think?

it’s expensive too,I went to the website .00 but offering a promotional offer.. I can’t afford this unless they have Medicare coverage.

it is very expensive and i think there are cheaper ways. It depends where your pain is. but the old fashioned paracetamol with codeïne is the cheapest

Question by v5latino: Pain relief for discomfort in my back?
Im 29, recent MRI showed 3 slipped disc’s… (L3, L4 and L5)
My Dr. doesn’t give me anything for the pain. It’s a real annoying discomforting feeling in my back. A dull achey pain with no relief. It’s so annoying. I would prefer a stinging sharp pain that goes and comes back better than what I’m feeling now. Atleast then it would go away for a bit. What should I do? I’ve tried back icy hot patches, I’ve tried naproxen, I’ve tried ibuprofen and tylenol and all over the counter medicines, makes me and my stomach sick. I like vicodins and percocets but I can’t get my Dr. to prescribe my anything and he makes me feel like I’m a drug seeker. What should I do. I stretch and take hot showers and do what I can. HELPPP!!!

Try going to a different doctor to get another opinion, and don’t slouch when you are sitting. Keep your back arched when you are sitting by putting a pillow or towel behind the arch of your back, and avoid laying flat on your back unless you use the same support.

Question by Feisty: Extreme muscle pain and knot relief?
So I’ve had pain and tension in my righ shoulder ever since i developed breasts. i have really large and HEAVY breasts and i think this is whats created the problem as im quite slender and cannot support the weight with my neck. it started out small but has developed over about 6 years or so and its recently become more excrucianting than ever. i have seen a physio but had to stop as we couldnt afford it. im in the same situation now and i know its coming from the joint muscles in my neck and i do my excercises but it doesnt help. iv had xrays and nothing is wrong with the bones but this massive muscle pain and tension is covering the entire upper part of my shoulder/ neck/ back and moving down my right arm. i can’t feel it when my husband pushing with al his strength on it but it constantly burns. deep heat sometimes gives very minor relief but i am thinking of buying this stuff called DMSO for muscle and pain relief. has anyone heard of it? does it work? Can someone please help me??? suggest what balms/ creams/ techniques might help me????

What’s worked for me is acupuncture. It saved my life. It’s perfect for very sore muscles.
